7.0
Talkey 7.0 is a new app – the original version does not update to it on its own. See Moving to the new version.
- AddedOne app for Windows, Mac, iPhone, iPad and Android with the same look and controls.
- AddedFirst-run wizard: create a new key, restore from a backup or transfer from another device.
- AddedMessage classification with TLP 2.0. A TLP:RED message cannot be forwarded or sent to more recipients; for RED and AMBER Talkey warns about recipients outside your organization, for GREEN about addresses on public email services.
- AddedKey fingerprint for the message signature and for every recipient – compare it with the other person, over the phone for example.
- AddedBefore a message opens, the Decrypt message panel shows the keys it is encrypted for.
- AddedInvite people to Talkey straight from a new message: they get a link by email and an activation password by text message.
- AddedSearch including the text of encrypted messages, and custom folders.
- AddedOn a computer, open a message by dragging the attachment – or the whole message from Outlook or Apple Mail. Double-click a message to open it in its own window.
- AddedDark theme.
- ChangedTalkey is not an email client. Encrypted messages arrive in your usual mailbox and appear in Talkey when you open the Talkey.mtm attachment.
- ChangedHand a message off to your email app (the default app on Windows, Apple Mail or Outlook on Mac, Mail on iPhone, sharing on Android), or let Talkey send it directly through IMAP/SMTP, Exchange or Gmail.
- ChangedA new app password must have at least 10 characters. Existing passwords keep working.
- RemovedMicrosoft Outlook integration – messages are opened from the Talkey.mtm attachment.
- RemovedFile and folder encryption, the encrypted drive and the shredder.
